Pay in Wales

NHS pay is overdue once again. UNISON Cymru is yet to have any communication from Welsh government on NHS pay.

If Welsh government continues to base their decisions on NHS pay in Wales on the PRB, then it seems unlikely any pay outcome will meet the costs of living or fix the wider issues with the NHS pay structure.

Ministers will now be considering what to do with the PRB recommendations. But they’re still not talking to us. Unless that changes, we will need to deliver a credible strike threat to drive it to the negotiating table.

Consultative ballot

UNISON Cymru health committee held an emergency meeting and has decided to hold a consultative ballot asking our members in Wales whether you would be willing to take strike action if the pay outcome does not improve your wages by more than rising living costs.

It’s time to have your say. You will receive an email asking you to take part in the consultative ballot. Make sure your details are up to date at My UNISON and if you don’t receive an email get in touch with your UNISON branch.

What are we asking for?

  • A proper pay rise – all NHS staff need an above inflation pay rise so we can continue to restore the value of your wages and kick poverty pay out of the NHS for good. And we need reforms to make sure that when you progress or get promoted you notice a real difference in your pay packet.
  • The right banding – all staff should get annual role and pay band reviews to make sure you’re paid at the right rate for the job. This requires major national investment to ensure that job evaluation processes are fair, timely and effective in every NHS employer.
  • A shorter working week – UNISON’s ambition is for a reduced working week in the NHS with no loss of pay to deliver a better work-life balance, to improve wellbeing, reduce burnout and keep staff like you in their jobs. follow the link below for more news.

Mae’n hen bryd i chi gael codiadcyflog – beth ydych chi'n fodlon eiwneud i gael y llywodraeth at ybwrdd?

Rydym am sicrhau trafodaethau i unioni cyflogau’r GIG ac ennill:

Codiad cyflog go iawn

Mae angen codiad cyflog uwchlaw chwyddiant ar holl staff y GIG fel y gallwn barhau i adfer gwerth eich cyflog a chael gwared ar gyflogau israddol o’r GIG am byth. Ac mae angen diwygiadau arnom i wneud yn siŵr eich bod yn sylwi ar wahaniaeth gwirioneddol yn eich pecyn cyflog pan fyddwch yn symud ymlaen neu'n cael dyrchafiad.

 Y bandio cywir

Dylai pob aelod o staff gael adolygiad o’u rôl a band cyflog yn flynyddol i sicrhau eich bod yn cael eich talu ar y gyfradd gywir am y swydd. Mae hyn yn gofyn am fuddsoddiad cenedlaethol sylweddol i sicrhau bod prosesau gwerthuso swyddi yn deg, yn amserol ac yn effeithiol ym mhob ymddiriedolaeth GIG.

Wythnos waith fyrrach

Uchelgais UNSAIN yw wythnos waith fyrrach yn y GIG heb golli cyflog. Mae angen gwell cydbwysedd rhwng bywyd a gwaith ar staff i wella llesiant, lleihau gorflino a chadw cydweithwyr yn eu swyddi. Mae gweithwyr y GIG yn hanfodol i gynllun y llywodraeth i dorri rhestrau aros, felly mae'n wirion parhau i anwybyddu
