NHS pay is overdue once again. UNISON Cymru is yet to have any communication from Welsh government on NHS pay.
If Welsh government continues to base their decisions on NHS pay in Wales on the PRB, then it seems unlikely any pay outcome will meet the costs of living or fix the wider issues with the NHS pay structure.
Ministers will now be considering what to do with the PRB recommendations. But they’re still not talking to us. Unless that changes, we will need to deliver a credible strike threat to drive it to the negotiating table.
Consultative ballot
UNISON Cymru health committee held an emergency meeting and has decided to hold a consultative ballot asking our members in Wales whether you would be willing to take strike action if the pay outcome does not improve your wages by more than rising living costs.
It’s time to have your say. You will receive an email asking you to take part in the consultative ballot. Make sure your details are up to date at My UNISON and if you don’t receive an email get in touch with your UNISON branch.
